Methodology
Quantitative architecture & signal conditioning
Miami is a systematic, market-neutral investment strategy focused on the most liquid constituents of the S&P 500 and Russell indices. The strategy seeks to generate absolute, uncorrelated returns by systematically exploiting short-term pricing inefficiencies between historically correlated equities. The portfolio is driven by quantitative models that continuously monitor relative-value relationships across established sector and statistical clusters. The core premise is mean reversion: when the pricing relationship between two highly correlated assets statistically deviates from its historical norm, Miami executes a paired trade, instituting a long position in the underperforming asset and a short position in the outperforming asset. Positions are held only until the pricing relationship normalizes, at which point the trade is systematically unwound to capture the differential. Miami is engineered to isolate idiosyncratic returns while strictly neutralizing broader market risks. The portfolio is maintained in a dollar-neutral and beta-neutral state, with automated, dynamic risk management embedded at the position, sector, and portfolio levels to limit drawdowns and maintain a targeted volatility profile. By restricting the trading universe to the highest-liquidity tier of the US equity market, the strategy mitigates liquidity risk, ensuring minimal market impact, tight bid-ask execution, and efficient capital scalability across market regimes without degrading the alpha profile. Trade horizon: medium frequency, 7 to 12 days.
